Advocacy for Sudan 🇸🇩

The war in Sudan began on April 15th, 2023. Current actionable items and campaigns to end the war are listed below. This page will be updated periodically.

‼️ Famine Alert ‼️

War led to displacement, blockades, and siege of cities across Darfur and Kordofan. Displaced people are unable to cultivate their land. Cities under siege are purposely starved. The UN declared famine in Sudan in 2024. The closure of USAID in 2025 cut major funding for emergency nutritional aid. Sudanese people are struggling to feed themselves and their neighbors in an increasingly desperate environment. They need practical solidarity now. Send food aid through the following links:

URGENT NUTRITIONAL NEEDS

In addition to your financial generosity, please call your government representatives and ask them to work diplomatically to secure humanitarian corridors for food to reach starving people in Sudan. Continually call on your government leaders to stop the flow of weapons to the warring parties.

ADVOCACY ACTIONS FOR SUDAN

Walk in Solidarity with Refugees

In June, I’m joining We Choose Welcome to walk in solidarity with immigrants and refugees. (That simply means I’ve got a good reason to exercise!) Our steps are not just symbolic, each one reminds us that although we walk by choice, many walk to survive.

For Sudanese People’s Sake, STOP Sending Weapons to the UAE!

We’re officially in the fourth year of war in Sudan, and innocent Sudanese people are paying the price. Take 3 actions for peace: sign the petition, write your reps, and call their offices to demand the US STOP sending weapons to the biggest backer of the violence in Sudan.

12 year old boy from El-Fashir: We were at home with my mom, father and my little brothers and sisters. Then we heard people screaming outside.

Mom started crying and shouting. I couldn’t hear her voice properly because everything was so loud. She grabbed us and said, “Come! Run!” #Sudan #Refugees #Children #Artwork

We used to have many neighbors. My family, my uncle Osman, and the rickshaw man lived near our house. I had many friends there. I miss them a lot. One day, an airplane came… #Sudan #Refugees #SouthSudan #Memory

11 more miles walked this weekend, mostly with friends. Walking is much easier with others, and our refugee friends know this very well.
