My name is Malik. I come from the Nuba Mountains of Sudan, but the pursuit of education and my walk of faith took me through South Sudan to Uganda for several years. Before coming to Korea, I worked in South Sudan, running a hospital diagnostic laboratory and conducting research on hepatitis prevalence on contract with Doctors Without Borders (MSF).
When I’m not playing football (Americans call it “soccer”) or supporting my favorite team (Chelsea FC), you’ll probably find me studying. These days, I fill my time immersing myself in the Korean language, history, and culture through a graduate program at Soongsil University.
I hope to enroll in a more advanced medical laboratory science program soon, to hone my skills for future humanitarian medical service.
