Advocacy for Sudan 🇸🇩

The war in Sudan began on April 15th, 2023. Current actionable items and campaigns to end the war are listed below. This page will be updated periodically.

‼️ Famine Alert ‼️

War led to displacement, blockades, and siege of cities across Darfur and Kordofan. Displaced people are unable to cultivate their land. Cities under siege are purposely starved. The UN declared famine in Sudan in 2024. The closure of USAID in 2025 cut major funding for emergency nutritional aid. Sudanese people are struggling to feed themselves and their neighbors in an increasingly desperate environment. They need practical solidarity now. Send food aid through the following links:

URGENT NUTRITIONAL NEEDS

In addition to your financial generosity, please call your government representatives and ask them to work diplomatically to secure humanitarian corridors for food to reach starving people in Sudan. Continually call on your government leaders to stop the flow of weapons to the warring parties.

ADVOCACY ACTIONS FOR SUDAN

Boycott the UAE: No Business With Genocide

Sudanese communities have been abandoned by the international community, and raising public pressure is one of the few tools we have to push governments and corporations to stop enabling violence.

📧 Dear Senator / Dear Representative 📞

I recently drafted the following letter to my US Senators and Representative, asking them to stop the flow of US weapons contributing to violence in Sudan. Please send your own letter and call your leaders to ask them to take action.

Tell Congress to Speak Up Against Genocide in Sudan

The world is once again witnessing genocide in Darfur, Sudan. Analysis of satellite imagery by the Yale Humanitarian Research Lab confirmed credible reports of attacks on civilian escape routes, mass killings, and executions—with blood-stained earth visible from space. The United States can and must act to stop it.

📰 SUDAN POSTS

Are Imperialist powers replicating the Congo model in Sudan?

As Donald Trump’s administration brokers what it calls a “peace roadmap” in Sudan, a familiar pattern is emerging: like in the Democratic Republic of Congo before it, imperialism’s seemingly-contradictory manoeuvres around war and peace serve only to destabilize Sudan, facilitating the extraction of its wealth.

Nonviolence Radio: All Eyes On Sudan

Nonviolence Radio released an episode this week highlighting Sudan. Listen to Mubarak Elamin and learn how to take action to end the war in Sudan.

A Heavy Week: News from El Fasher

With the news coming out of Sudan, it’s been a long and emotional week. So, I’ll lament a bit in this post… if you’ll bear with me.

Enforce the Arms Embargo on Sudan

Please read this open letter to my Senators requesting their support to enforce an arms embargo on Sudan by co-sponsoring S.Res.126, and join me in writing to your US’ Senators requesting their support.
