Call Congress: No Funds for War with Iran

Cross-posting this call to action from the Friends Committee on National Legislation (source):

The United States, without congressional authorization, unleashed war on Iran. The conflict has engulfed several countries as Iran retaliates. U.S. servicemembers, civilians, and our environment are paying the price for President Trump’s illegal actions. Even though we may be in a tentative two week ceasefire, the consequences of the war are still very real. People are still dying and being driven from their homes in Lebanon.

Our demand of Congress is the same: No Funding for War!

Congress has not authorized this war of choice, despite our tax dollars paying for it. With the Pentagon confirming the war costs at least $1 billion per day and the Trump administration may request additional funding, legislators need to hear from constituents that War is Not the Answer and we will not pay for it.

The American people do not want another endless war in the Middle East. Diplomacy is still possible and necessary. Urge your members of Congress to speak out forcefully against the war and reject more funding for this illegal war with Iran!

Walk in Solidarity with Refugees

In June, I’m joining We Choose Welcome to walk in solidarity with immigrants and refugees. (That simply means I’ve got a good reason to exercise!) Our steps are not just symbolic, each one reminds us that although we walk by choice, many walk to survive.

Power Hour: Phone-Banking for Korea Peace, 6/22

The Korean War is the United States’ longest running overseas conflict. Sign up to join a series of online and in-person events to advocate for formally ending the Korean War with a peace agreement; challenge the bloated U.S. military budget; and seek justice for Korean women survivors of U.S. militarized violence.
