When our neighbors are threatened and hurt by those in power, protests and vigils are essential ways to prophetically demand justice and care. But if those demands are ignored, what else can we do?
In this workshop, we will explore the nonviolent tactics beyond protests and mass demonstrations, the strategies we can use speak truth to power, stop cooperating with those causing harm, and intervene to disrupt the injustice. From sit-ins and boycotts to not answering the door and misfiling paperwork, there are countless ways that people can work together to resist oppression.
Join us for an interactive session of experiential learning, teaching and discussion, application, and resources to practice strategic nonviolence in your own community.

MEET THE FACILITATOR
Peter Digitale Anderson is Peace Catalyst’s Executive Director and Program Director in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where he is equipping community peacemakers and collaborating with others for racial justice and healing. His projects include facilitating a healing and practice space for white men undoing white supremacist and patriarchal cultures; organizing white folk, especially people of faith, to work for racial justice alongside BIPOC partners; providing nonviolent protection for civilians and training others in safety skills; building community and inspiring activists through singing circles; and more. In addition, Peter leads trainings in conflict transformation, nonviolence, trauma awareness and healing, and community-based peacebuilding.
