You are invited to join us for Korea Peace Advocacy Week!
For ten years, Korea Peace Advocacy Week has empowered hundreds of Americans across the United States to ask their members of Congress to support a formal end to the Korean War.
As things are rapidly shifting in our world and military tensions run dangerously high on the Korean Peninsula, we need diplomacy and a peace agreement. 75 years of war is TOO LONG!
If you haven’t participated in this kind of advocacy before, you may immediately feel uncertain about this. I was nervous the first time I had a meeting with government staff, but there’s no need to fear.
Before you meet with your Member of Congress’ staff, I will be with you on May 29th at 8 pm ET during a Zoom training session to help us prepare. And, for my friends from Missouri, I’ll be present with you in the sessions with our Senators. No matter which state you come from, you’ll have someone with you in the meetings who has done Korea Peace advocacy before. We’re all working together. You are not alone.
From June 9-13th, online participants will join 30-minute Zoom meetings with their members of Congress (1 Representative, 2 Senators) to share personal stories and urge them to support Korean peace legislation. (Remember, we will offer an online training before these meetings.)
If you wish to travel to Washington D.C., we can arrange in-person meetings with your representatives’ offices between June 16 and 20th.
Register now for this June’s online or in-person Korea Peace Advocacy!
