Cross-posting an invitation from Nodutdol to stand in solidarity with a 21-year-old student at Columbia University who is being targeted for deportation by the current US administration because she exercised her Constitutionally-protected right to freedom of speech and assembly.
By now, you have probably heard the story of Yunseo Chung, a 21-year-old student at Columbia University. Yunseo is a legal permanent resident of the US, who immigrated from South Korea when she was just 7 years old. However, Trump and ICE are trying to deport her for protesting in solidarity with Palestine.
Although Yunseo’s deportation was temporarily blocked by a judge, the fight to protect her continues. Until her next hearing on May 20th, we invite you to submit letters of support addressed to Yunseo and her family. This action is being undertaken with the consultation and consent of Yunseo’s legal team.
Yunseo is one of many students currently being persecuted for opposing the genocide of Palestinians. In these dark times, their bravery is a light. By sending a letter of support for Yunseo, you affirm what these students already know. That a truly liberated future is only possible when we come together in compassion and solidarity.
Let’s spread the word! Please… send the link to write a letter to 3 more people in your network.
Thank you,
Nodutdol for Korean Community Development
