On March 8th, a permanent US resident was abducted by DHS officers from his home in New York while his 8-month pregnant wife ran to get his green card. He is a legal resident of the United States. He has been charged with no crime. You can read more in this AP report about Mahmoud Khalil and why the actions taken against him are so concerning.

You can also take action on his behalf and on behalf of other immigrants targeted for arrest and deportation because of protected political speech by calling your Congressional representatives or by emailing them and other officials. Jewish Voice for Peace has also been mobilizing to call for his release, so connect to your local chapter to participate in actions on the ground.
