Join us for a special evening with Ven. Pomnyun Sunim, one of South Korea’s most respected public figures, a Buddhist monk, peace activist, and humanitarian who has worked for over 30 years to promote peace on the Korean Peninsula.
This interactive webinar will explore timely topics such as recent developments in North Korea, the role of U.S.-based advocates for peace, and how Korean Americans and allies, across generations and communities of faith, can stay grounded while working for change. Drawing from his decades of spiritual and peacebuilding experience, Sunim will offer insight into how we can maintain inner peace and resilience in times of political and social uncertainty.
Simultaneous interpretation will be provided. All are welcome.
Ven. Pomnyun Sunim is the founder and chair of several organizations, including Good Friends, JTS (Join Together Society), and The Peace Foundation, which focus on human rights, humanitarian aid, and policy for peacebuilding and reunification. He has briefed U.S. policymakers—including at the State Department, NSC, and Congress—on North Korea and peace issues, and was honored with the Ramon Magsaysay Award and the Niwano Peace Prize for his work. In Korea, he is a beloved public teacher whose Dharma talks, books, and YouTube channels reach millions.
