Last month’s webinar hosted by the Franciscan Action Network (source):

If you missed Ken, Maria, and Rivera‘s webinar on “Using Our Power – Nonviolence & Noncooperation in History & Today” – first, it was amazing, hopeful, and activating – second, now is your chance to watch it!

Links posted below the video for additional learning and action.

  • Tesla Takedown: a peaceful protest movement
Rivera made sure to mention here that the property damage being done to Teslas and charging stations is not part of this nonviolent, organized movement – but it highlights the reality that people may try to hijack movements with violence – sometimes in an attempt to de-legitimize actual nonviolent resistance.
  • Target Boycott
Given as an example of a clear boycott with goals.
  • Friends of the Movement
Black and ally businesses featured on the Black Wall Street Ticker, showcasing “Our Money United” in real time, highlighting our collective Buying POWER. Invite consumers and trusted merchants to expand the directory.
  • Shore up support – Rivera encouraged those of us who may not be in a position to actively resist to offer our support to those who are doing so bravely and at great risk/cost to themselves and their loved ones.
    • One simple way may be to follow, like, or comment positively on their activities online.
    • A more private way may be to reach out to them privately to offer encouragement or tangible forms of covert support.
  • Track actions being taken in resistance to the executive overreach of this US government at www.choosedemocracy.us
