Rivera made sure to mention here that the property damage being done to Teslas and charging stations is not part of this nonviolent, organized movement – but it highlights the reality that people may try to hijack movements with violence – sometimes in an attempt to de-legitimize actual nonviolent resistance.

- Boycott Central –
Perhaps you’ve seen dozens of boycotts across your social media feed. Look up what boycotts are happening now and who is organizing them rated by our criteria of what makes a boycott effective.
- Shore up support – Rivera encouraged those of us who may not be in a position to actively resist to offer our support to those who are doing so bravely and at great risk/cost to themselves and their loved ones.
- One simple way may be to follow, like, or comment positively on their activities online.
- A more private way may be to reach out to them privately to offer encouragement or tangible forms of covert support.
