“Peacemaking Through Collaboration Between Christians in North and South Korea: Marking 40 Years of the Tozanso Process

Kurt Esslinger, a mission co-worker assigned to the National Council of Churches in Korea, discussed ecumenical efforts for Korea peace through the Tozanso Process, which began in 1984 by the World Council of Churches to build relationships between Christians from North and South Korea.

Charles Ryu moderated the discussion.

As Kurt explains in the video above, the Korean War has still not ended. Until there is peace, there is no chance for human rights in North OR South Korea. Kurt encourages American Christians to humanize North Korean people and to prepare the soil in the USA for an end to the war and peace in Korea.

As American citizens, we can urge our government to end the Korean War. One of the ways we can do this is by supporting the “Peace on the Korean Peninsula” act that was recently reintroduced in Congress (H.R. 1841).

Here are two ways you can work for Korean peace today:

  1. Contact your member of Congress to urge them to cosponsor the newly reintroduced Peace on the Korean Peninsula act.
  2. Register for and begin recruiting friends to participate in Korea peace advocacy week, which will take place online between June 6th and 13th.
