What might be the US Presidential candidates’ future foreign policy toward the Korean peninsula if elected?

Each month, I participate in a Korea Peace Study Group. We are a group of peace advocates who study things related to our work to end the Korean War.

Can I brag on my study buddies a little bit?

I’m feeling super proud of John Kim and Johnny Atlas for their collaborative presentation about the 2024 US Presidential candidates’ Korea policies. They’ve been studying the candidates independently and brought back their presentation to the Korea Peace Study Group earlier this month. Also – neither of them considers themselves “techy,” so making a virtual presentation on Zoom was a stretch for both of them. Way to go, guys!!! Their presentation was timely and led to some generative discussion. I’ll drop the recording below, in case you’re interested in listening in.

During the course of our discussion, we heard from study group members who support both major candidates and a third party candidate – but all of us are united by our desire to see an END to the Korean War. I was grateful for the civility and respect that each person displayed in their dialogue with one another. We will continue to work together after this election for a cause we all believe in.

END THE KOREAN WAR!

Wherever we find ourselves politically, let’s treat each other with dignity. Not only will this enable fruitful dialogue, this is really at the heart of what we’re all longing for…

Peaceward ~ 평화로 ~
