It’s that time of year again. The time of year when I become a shameless beggar for a cause. 🙂 Yep – it’s almost my birthday month!
So, as I’m gearing up for the a month of begging, can I invite you to reacquaint yourself with my Sudanese brother? Meet Malik…
Here’s what I first blogged about Malik in 2008, imagining what his childhood in a war zone may have been like. Here is where I reveal that Malik is a really smart kid. And, here is where I describe how Malik becoming my brother. And, here’s where I told you about the atrocities committed against his people in the Nuba Mountains. I wish I could say that the atrocities I wrote about were an unfortunate – and closed – chapter of history, but the bombs still fall in the Nuba Mountains.
I’ll share more about Malik in the days ahead. I just wanted to remind you of what I’ve written about this remarkable young man already.
Jennie Joy, we do want to send a money contribution in honor of your b-day, but need an address as to where to send a check. Please tell us that address. Thank you as we love to hear from you. Continued Blessings and Protection, dear friend, Shirley and Sid
