I think frangipani is one of the most beautiful and fragrant flowers in the world.
Sometimes they litter the sidewalks here in Bangkok, and sometimes the branches hang low enough over fences out into the road that I can stop and smell them. Once, I tucked a blossom into my braid, and all day long, I kept telling others I liked their perfume… not realizing it was the forgotten blossom in my hair that smelled so nice. Catching a whiff of frangipani’s wistful fragrance in the streets of Bangkok is like receiving a kiss from heaven.
Did you know that our prayers smell good to God? Consider this comment from my friend Aletha,
When we lift the desires and love of our hearts to God, He receives them as though they are a precious fragrance. It is as though He refreshes Himself with our worship.
“May my prayer be set before you like incense; may the lifting up of my hands be like the evening sacrifice” (Psalm 141:2). When we pray, our prayers are lovingly saved as incense to be used in worship in Heaven.
May our prayers and praises rise from pure hearts and bring delight to our Lord!
