Hey friends!
Some of you may have heard a bit here and there about floods in Thailand. There are seasonal floods in southeast Asia every year, but this year, there’s been a massive buildup of water and it’s beginning to overtake Bangkok, Thailand’s capital city of over 9 million people – and the city where I’ll be living next year.
For the sake of comparison, this article asks, “Is Bangkok the New Orleans of Thailand’s Katrina?”
Below is a fun animation that explains why the water is filling Bangkok and gives a picture of the enormity of the situation. Read the English subtitles, if (like me) you don’t understand Thai (yet). 🙂
Pray for the people of Bangkok. Pray that Jesus is known and exalted there in this time and in the aftermath. Pray that the glory of God will cover Thailand in even greater measure than the floodwaters!
