A song Jesus gave me during my time worshiping Him. The verses were written when I was 16, and the refrain followed when I was a college student. Jesus is so much more than we can know, but we can worship Him now for what we’ve come to know of Him – and we can long to know Him more – to be with Him where He is, both in this life and forever.
“If anyone serves me, he must follow Me; and where I am, there will my servant be also.”
-Jesus, from John 12:26a
Jesus, You are the light of my eyes
The joy of my morning
My holy delight
The peaceful presence that brightens my night
Jesus, You’re this and more
Jesus, You’re this and more
Jesus, You are the desire of my heart
My beautiful Lover
The image of art
The voice in my spirit calling me to take part
Jesus, You’re this and more
Jesus, You’re this and more
And I want to be where You are
To hear Your voice
And feel You drawing near me
When You call my name
I will follow You again
‘Cause I want to be where You are
Jesus, You are my King for all time
The word from Your mouth
Is a double-edged knife
You’re Lord of the hopes and dreams for my life
Jesus, You’re this and more
Jesus, You’re this and more
And I want to be where You are
To hear Your voice
And feel You drawing near me
When You call my name
I will follow You again
‘Cause I want to be where You are
