Yesterday’s blog post on courageous men reminded me of a song I wrote when I was 17 after a time of prayer about my future husband. If the Lord ever decides to bring me a husband, he’s going to be a courageous man. 🙂

God give me a man, whose heart seeks after Your heart
Who has no fear of failure, but looks unto the cross
God give me a man, who passionately loves You
Who seeks Your face alone, and counts his life as loss
God, give me that man

A man whose first desire is to know You more
To share Your joy with others, Your love, Your plan, Your hope
A man who lives like Jesus, because Jesus dwells within
The man of Your choosing, my desire is for him

God give me a man, whose heart seeks after Your heart
Who has no fear of mortals, but looks unto the cross
God give me a man, who passionately loves You
Who seeks Your face alone, and counts his life as loss
God, give me that man

I know not where You see him, but I know Your plan is wrought
His heart will beat for You, Lord, in every word and every thought
His actions speak for Jesus, and this he knows full well
He daily implores You, in Your presence he does dwell

When the day is come, and I know the man You’ve chosen
My heart will join with his heart, and together we’ll be one
In the presence of Your Son
For the glory of Your Son
