This is a song Jesus gave me one morning to comfort me in the painful days that followed losing baby Isaiah, who died of HIV when he was 2 1/2 years old.
Jesus said to his disciples in their grief, “For the present you are in sorrow; but I will see you again and then Your hearts will rejoice, and no one can take from you your joy… I have told you these things so that in Me you may have perfect peace and confidence. In the world, you will have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration, but be undaunted! I have overcome the world!” (John 16:22,33)
Jesus alone is the answer to the pain the world gives us. His comfort is available to you. Place your hope in Him.
I’m held safely in Your arms.
You keep me free from harm.
You lavish love on me,
King of the Universe.
You say that I am Your child,
And nothing that I do
Will change the way You love,
King of the Universe.
When I fill my head with worry,
Fill my heart with hurts,
You draw me near,
And You cry with me,
And though, the world can be so painful,
Life is so unfair,
You come to me and whisper,
“Don’t despair.”
Your love asks nothing of me
But that I would be
A child in Your arms.
