A journal entry from 2004, when God granted me His perspective on something I was contending for in prayer:
“Thank You for hearing my prayers. So many of them. A crazy number of them. I can’t count them. All of those prayers I whispered in the dark night of my bedroom, or staring at the bright screen of my laptop, or sitting in the car, or driving down the road, or walking the halls of school, or huddled in awe of Your power.
You’ve heard, You’ve answered. Perhaps I only see the first part, but I know You see the whole puzzle and You see the finished project.
While I, in inner burning, cried tears out to You, You already knew this moment would come, when I blessed Your name for this step. You knew this point in time would be filled with thanks from my overflowing heart.
Yes, there are still troubles. Yes, there still exists pain. Yes, the work has not yet finished, but I have the assurance it will…
The future is in Your hands, and I have no place to fear.”
