Would you please take a minute to sign THIS PETITION. It asks a newspaper near my hometown (the St. Louis Post-Dispatch) to publish an apology for an article that blames a local trafficking victim for her sexual torture and abuse.

Victim-blaming is all too common in cases of sexual crimes, but we know that sexual abuse involves control and manipulation to keep the victim trapped and silent. When a victim has the courage to speak out about the abuse to law enforcement, the media should NEVER attack her. That will only serve to perpetuate a culture where abuse will remain hidden and continue.

So, please SIGN! And pass the link along to others so they can sign! We hope to get 10,000 signatures.
