Yesterday evening, at family prayer time, one of our kids came and lay her head on my lap. She fell asleep there.
As I held her, I remembered the many nights she had fallen asleep in my lap when I first came here two years ago. She was much smaller then, but at evening prayer times, she would come find me and snuggle in until she fell asleep. After prayers finished, I would carry her to her bed, lay her down, and kiss her goodnight, all the while praying blessings over her little life.
Last night, as I lifted her in my arms to carry her to bed, I was amazed. She’s grown so big! I thought as I carried her across the yard to her room.
My heart swelled as I thanked the Lord for His hand in her life. He is the One who holds her – protects her – nurtures her little body as it grows. She is in very good hands.
