“Do we even know what LOVE is?

I was listening to Misty’s new albums. (Misty Edwards)
And one of them talks about what love truly is…

She says, ‘He [Jesus] had arms wide open, a heart exposed. Bleeding.’

And it continues to where God revealed to her what living in love means…
for us to live our lives with ‘Arms wide open. A heart exposed… Sometimes bleeding.’
It hurts to be vulnerable. It does.
No one enjoys the chance of being rejected.
No one enjoys the chance of being hurt… or worse… hurt again.
But God commands that you shall love me. And we’re to love each other.
Everyone.
Not the ones we pick & choose. Everyone.
It hurts.
It hurts to leave your arms spread wide open & not grasp your heart when people get close.
It hurts to not flinch.
It hurts to leave your heart exposed on the table.
Not sure whether people will take it or leave it. Love it or pass by.

It’s a beautiful thing. A miserable thing.
Thank God that He didn’t flinch.
Thank God that Jesus didn’t jump off the cross & go up with a bunch of angels to Heaven.
He loved me enough to keep His heart wide open in the midst of pain.
He loves you that much too.
He was thinking of you… literally… at that moment on the cross.
He knew where you would go, do… and who’d you become.
No surprise.
He did it all for you.”

“Today, you face a simple choice between remaining safe and the risk of generously loving. Will you follow Jesus into a life of love? Will you make the choice to lose your life? Will you allow Him to live His live in you? Will you allow yourself to spend and be spent for the sake of the world? The answer will depend on your choice to trust Him.”
