Yes… in many deep and difficult ways.

As a matter of fact, yes.

All the time! 🙂

Tripped over a coffee table?
Frequently since I now have a coffee table in my house, but still don’t have electricity to ease nighttime navigation. 🙂

Dyed your hair?
Nope, but I did get a hair cut… well, a trim…

Came close to losing your life?
Yes. At least twice. Maybe thrice.

Saw one of your favorite bands/artists live?
Um. No.

Did you hate anyone?

Do you have any regrets when it comes to your friendships?
Yeah, but I can’t dwell there. Apologize and/or forgive – make a change and move on…

Did you change at all this year?

Did you change your style?
I don’t even know what that means.

Were you in school?
I attended two courses on Conflict Resolution and Peacemaking at the Reconcile Peace Institute.

Did you get good grades?

Did you have a job?
Still do, in fact.

Did you drive?
All over the place- in a Land Rover Defender, on a Honda Hero Motorcycle, in borrowed/rented vehicles, and in my own little blue ’93 Pontiac Grand Am.

Did you own a car?
Well, yes. A blue ’93 Pontiac Grand Am. I think my dad might sell it soon. Anyone want to buy it?

Did anyone close to you give birth?
I had friends who had babies, I spent lots of time caring for and loving babies, I said goodbye to three babies…

Done something you’ve regretted?

In 2009 I confess that
I didn’t wear sunscreen or mosquito repellant enough.

Wrote a poem?
Quite a few.

Painted a picture?
I don’t remember painting anything… I wrote a poem about painting though… 🙂 Oh! Wait! I also painted a sign for our compound. 🙂

Ran a mile?
Pushed a motorbike a mile through sand (flat tire)? Does that count?

Visited a foreign country?

Cut in a line of waiting people?
At the airport immigration earlier this month. Thank you, kind woman.

Cooked a disastrous meal?
Not that I remember… which is fairly miraculous!

Lied about how old you were?
Unintentionally. Said I was 22, when I’d already turned 23.

Broke a promise?
Yes. Felt terrible.

Several times. Then had to eat humble pie, confess, and get right with people…

Hid a secret?
I held certain things in confidence, yes.

Slept under the stars?
In a tent under the stars, and I stared at the stars many-a-night on my midnight latrine runs.

Forgot your new year’s resolution?
Nope. I refer back to them throughout the year.

Met someone who changed your life?
Several such people. 🙂

Changed your outlook on life?
Yes. It’s always changing as I get to know the Source better.

Sat home all day doing nothing?

Pretended to be sick?

Lost something expensive?
Yes. My iPod and eyeglasses and retainer on a trip to Uganda. Felt so stupid.

Tried something you normally wouldn’t try and liked it?
Yeah… a pedicure… 🙂

Made a change in your life?

Found out who your true friends were?
I’m in that process.

Met great people?

Cried over the silliest thing?
I cried. I don’t think they were silly things. Ok, maybe a few of them were. 🙂

Had friends who were drifting away from you?

Had a high cell phone bill?

Spent most of your money on food?
Nope. Airfare.

Gotten sick?
Too many times.

Became closer with a lot of people?
Yes. 🙂 It was fun!

Do you think 2010 will top 2009?
Hmmm… I hope so. It will be a crucial year for the people of Sudan. That’s for sure.
