It’s 11:30 PM and the drums and chanting in the nearby homes have
already started. Odd. In nights past, the eerie singing didn’t begin
until 2:30 or 3:00 AM. Tonight it’s much earlier.

Last night, at about 10:30 PM, Michele gave me a call, asking me to
come up to her house and bring any kids who were still awake. She had
been having an awesome prayer time, and the presence of God was
tangibly felt just entering into the house. The kids gathered and
began fervently joining in prayer. We prayed for a long time before
the room quieted and we all sat there, in a sort-of awed silence. It
was so peaceful. I believe the Lord was ministering deeply to many
hearts during that time.

Anyway, I don’t know for sure what tonight’s singers are chanting
about across the valley just beyond our fence, but I know that no
power is greater than the power of the God of peace who visited us
last night in Michele’s house. He is our protector and guide,
promising us that no weapon formed against us will prosper. He orders
His angels to encamp around us. We are surrounded by a protective
wall of spiritual fire- and He is our glory within. May the God of
peace crush the enemy under His feet and mightily rule and reign in
Sudan!
