This morning- after distributing finances for the weekly grocery
shopping- I played nurse all morning, medicating kids, bandaging
wounds, distributing vitamins, feeding Mr. “I-don’t-want-nutrition-
thank-you-very-much” (he ate half a bowl of noodles!), and diagnosing
two more with malaria. Our malaria count is now at 5 confirmed cases.
This afternoon, I put up photos of my family in my house. Oh, and I
got caught up in an African exorcism on my way into town to buy more
malaria test kits. Felt led to leave before the exorcism finished,
and since I couldn’t actually get to the pharmacy before closing
time, I stopped for some tea on the roadside and dug into Jesus’
teaching to his disciples about deliverance.
Oh yeah, and this evening, I ran over my dog with the motorbike.
Praise God, the creature seems to be fine! He’s outside chewing on a
plastic bottle as I type.
Since then, I’ve pumped and carried several jerricans of water to
fill my water tank, distributed some more bandages, and watched a
beautiful sunset. God does great work.
Now, it’s time for the second round of meds for our malarial children.
It’s a good thing I started the day with Jesus. I expect the day will
end that way too. Alpha and Omega and all that.
