I dislike driving on the muddy roads, but I like feeling like I’m in a biker gang when more than one of our motorbikes travel in a convoy!
My last few posts have been a little heavy – so, time to lighten it up a bit with another list of likes and dislikes! Enjoy!
I dislike the aches, diarrhea, fever, and chills of malaria, but I like the freedom to rest in bed all day and talk to Jesus (and I like the aftertaste of the pills – is that weird?).
I dislike the smell and flies that breed in the latrine, but I like not having to flush!
I dislike having our sweet guard dog jump on me, but I like having him as my faithful shadow when I walk in the bush.
I dislike all the teenage drama I have to mediate, but I love sitting and praying with our teenagers who are so passionate for more of Jesus!!!
I dislike dealing with issues of staff hiring/firing, but I love it when God brings us people after His own heart!
I dislike the stupid comments directed at me and calls of “come here, my wife!” when I’m traveling through groups of young men in town, but I like the laughter that comes on those occasions that I can find a stinging comeback. 🙂
I dislike the lack of electricity, but I like lighting my big, green, citronella candle!
I hate seeing so much suffering day-in and day-out, but I like being so constantly reminded to depend on Jesus.
