Have you ever seen kids cup their hands under their armpits and slap their upper arm against their side – making those nasty noises? Well, I’d seen that in the States as a child- and as a college student working at a daycare a few years back… and, frankly, I have always found it disgusting. For the sake of this post, let’s call the abominable practice the “armpit fart.”
Unfortunately, somehow, the kids at the children’s center here in Sudan have discovered the “armpit fart!” Tonight after dinner, the children were trying to “armpit fart” to the beat of church songs!
After getting past my initial shock and revulsion, I was amazed by the fact that children the world over are united in discovering and enjoying this unfortunate little practice… in worship no less.
Creative? Well, yes.
But NASTY too! 😉
I can't lie. I have an aversion for bathroom humor. 'the armpit fart" was a coveted antic I never possessed as a kid-although that has never hindered me from sharing the 'bronx cheer' by other means. I don't know why it amuses me so much! I would get into so much trouble for doing it when I was younger. You'd think I would have grown out of it-nope! Ruthi thinks it's hilarious, and Eric like any guy see's valuable humor in bodily functions. And I keep several fart app's on my iPhone. Forgive my family for our Eric refers to as 'college guy humor'…we love and miss you Jen! =]hearts & hugs,B
