We took in three little ones who had been orphaned in the LRA attack. The two boys were traumatized, but physically unharmed. However, the three year old girl had been beaten with rocks to her head and wasn’t talking, eating, or walking straight when she came to live with us. We were concerned that she may have a serious brain injury, but we had no access to the medical equipment needed to diagnose her. Only three weeks later, after lots of prayer and love, she is running, eating, and laughing! PRAISE JESUS!!!

After hearing this wonderful news, a woman from UNICEF wrote us the following:
“Thanks for sharing this touching testimony with me, I am sharing it with other colleagues who knew of [the little girl’s] case. It is encouraging to know that at least some of the children who are victims of the LRA atrocities don’t only survive or get rescued but do find true love in a home where their hope in life is restored.
A smile on the face of a child fills one’s heart with a special delight;
and the cause of the smile is the purpose of our striving.”
