I have some blog posts brewing, but in the mean time, enjoy this story that my family has gotten a kick out of. 🙂 Yes, it’s another motorcycle incident.
It rained like crazy three nights ago – high winds, all sorts of leaks in the roof, my bed literally had a big puddle in it – and those rains did a number on the roads. So, coming into town on the motorcycle from our village this morning, I found myself creeping in second gear along ledges about a foot and a half wide overhanging mud pits about 3 feet deep. Yesterday those puddles were just big ravines in the road. 🙂
Well, I saw a puddle that was not very wide, and assumed that it wouldn’t be very deep either. I decided to risk the puddle instead of taking another precarious ledge. When the front wheel dropped about a foot (and mud splashed ALL OVER ME), I just revved the engine (not wanting the bike to stall, forcing me to climb off and push the bike through the mud in my skirt) and somehow the bike slid back and forth and out of the mud pit! 🙂 I let out a big whoop when I came out on the other side- it was quite exciting- and the little kids alongside the road walking to school all laughed. 🙂 I can’t escape an audience here!
