As a matter of prayer, Patrick Jalan, our Sudanese director, died this evening at 6:07 PM local time (+3 GMT). His family is mourning, and we will gather again with them in the morning to make funeral arrangements.
Please cover the family and our staff and children in prayers during this time.
Pray especially for Patrick’s wife, Betty, and for Zion, their 18 month son.
We, of course, are asking Jesus to send Patrick back to us, but we neither begrudge him the joy of Jesus’ full presence.
Praise God with us that no matter what the coming days bring, our God is a God of redemption. We are victorious in the truth that He indeed works ALL THINGS together for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.
Pray that in our sadness, we would not grieve as the world grieves. We have an eternal hope. May that truth especially grip the hearts of those in Patrick’s family who don’t yet know Jesus.
We send you our love and deep gratitude for your footsteps alongside us in this journey.
