You know how each home has its own oddities? Little things that do not work just as designed. Although initially a source of annoyance for homeowners, the residents adapt themselves to the point that they no longer notice the fault as they go through their days.
A faucet that spits out cold water when turned to hot- and vice versa. A lock that only responds when the key is jiggled “just so.” A toilet that will flush only so much- and no more!
Well, at our home here in Sudan, we have a door that jams when you try to open it normally. Apparently the wood warped at some point along the line. How have we adapted? We slip a finger through one of the bullet holes near the top, right hand corner and pull. It works every time.
Sometimes I think that the human race is infinitely adaptable.
