My friend Adam Thada recently posted a photo of his wife preparing a “whole bird” on his blog. Very cool, Adam.
Just for “grins and giggles” – as Michele often says – and as a form of comparison between the Thada kitchen in Marion, Indiana and Beida’s kitchen in Yei, Sudan, I’ve posted some photos of our chicken preparation earlier this week.
Beida, our oldest girl at 14, prepares to dispatch the chicken.
Beida submerges the dead beast in boiling water.
The feathers come off quickly – as many hands make light work.
The finished product! Chicken and chips!
At some point, when the internet connection allows, I will post a video of Beida slaughtering the creature. 🙂
