All my life, I’ve wondered what it’s like to bring in the New Year in Times Square.

So, some friends and I packed our bags and road tripped across America to bring in the New Year in Times Square with our friends from Brooklyn. I had great expectations.

We arrived at Times Square too late to get into the party. Bummer. So, along with several thousand others, we tried to get as close as the police would let us.

The police kept telling us to go home, but the massive crowd wasn’t going anywhere too fast.

To encourage us to move faster, the police started cursing and shoving us… then they brought in the horses.

Despite the stampede, terror, profanity, and police brutality, I joyously brought in the New Year!

This video documents a New York New Year- outside of Times Square!

Many thanks to Fidel and Romaine, our fearless Guyanese bodyguards. 🙂

Happy 2008 everybody!!!
