by Jennie Joy

A deep aching fullness. So full of pain.
She held Him tightly, then betrayed Him again.
Tears fall, burning in darkened eyes.
He journeys far to bury His love.

Adventure, passion, a weak show of strength.
She turned away and drank deep draughts of dark wine.
Rebellion bred by seeds of pride,
Body bent back, legs spread open wide.

He calls to her, His voice now forgotten.
“Will you not return? Our cup is yet broken!”
Head bowed, bitter tears, darkened eyes.
He journeys far to bury His love.
