Reflection on a conversation I had with a girl at church this morning.
Her dreams are too big to forsake this early in the game.
Do you really want to wear this name?
Live this life?
Walk the well-trodden family path?
Use your mind! You know you can.
Set the tempo for your children to come.
Disprove those who said it couldn’t be done.
So, you think you’ll get your GED.
Girl, you quit now, and you’ll quit again.
You’re forming a habit.
Failure becomes a trend.
Finish high school strong, while you’re still a kid.
You won’t want to go back when you’re 26.
Haven’t you thought of the future before?
What did you imagine, hope, and desire?
Here’s some sound advice.
Take it to heart.
“What you will be, you are now becoming.”
Don’t let your dreams die before your life starts.
Don’t listen to your parents, classmates, and teachers.
They say you’re nothing!
They say you can’t!
Will they laugh all the more if you don’t go back?
Will you prove them right by giving up?
Prove them wrong! I know you can.
