Kim and I went to explore the ancient temples of Siem Reap.
We started at sunrise at Angkor Wat- the most famous of ancient Khmer architecture.
Of course, after our dawn photo shoot, we had to stop for a breakfast of bai sat ch’rook (fried pork and rice) and cahve dteuk dakoh dakor (Cambodian Iced Coffee)!
This temple was almost completely swallowed by the jungle… HUGE trees have crumbled the walls and overgrown the pagodas… so much fun to clamber all over these ruins!
Kim discovered that she could fly after ascending one of the taller towers!
We also saw lots of Buddhist monks…
…they are very photogenic in their orange and saffron robes!
I sat with the monk below for a long time, practicing English with him and praying that he would know Jesus.
Buddhism is one of the outstanding religious strongholds in the world. Southeast Asia has seemed impenetrable to the Gospel for years, despite missionary presence. Pray for a supernatural acceleration and an outpouring of revival in Cambodia!
