“Human Trafficking” is the recruitment, transportation, transfer, harboring, or receipt of persons for purposes of exploitation. This exploitation may take the form of forced labor, illegal enscription of children into an army, or sexual exploitation, to name a few. The modern day slave trade is active all around the world, most visibly in southeast Asia, western Europe, and sub-Saharan Africa.
In a few months, I will begin an internship with World Hope International in the Kingdom of Cambodia. The video below describes the way in which World Hope is tackling this issue of modern day slavery. I will be working in micro-economic development and education to prevent the trafficking of persons.
If your heart goes out to the millions of women and children currently enslaved, please make your voice heard!
